About Alex Productions

Founded by Alex Hitzeroth in 2019, Alex Productions is a pioneering force in celebrating and preserving South African music.

Our mission is to inspire and educate young musicians while promoting our rich cultural heritage and fostering social cohesion through music.

At Alex Productions, we are committed to creating innovative educational resources and versatile musical arrangements designed specifically for school and youth ensembles. Our flagship publications include the Ingoma Series and South African Music for All. The Ingoma Series offers a collection of much-loved South African classics arranged for various instrumental combinations, ideal for school and community ensembles. South African Music for All features beloved folk songs from across South Africa, presented with lyrics, stories, translations, and illustrations, making it a comprehensive resource for music education.

In addition, we have recently expanded our offerings with the South African Music for All Solo Series, the first of its kind. This solo series brings the richness of South African music to individual performers, providing valuable resources for students at different levels. Each piece is thoughtfully arranged to highlight South Africa’s diverse musical traditions while being accessible and engaging for soloists.

Our dedication extends beyond traditional publishing. In response to the challenges presented by COVID-19, we launched Ingoma Goes Digital, a series of virtual performances that brought together students from different schools to play iconic South African music from the safety of their homes. This project exemplifies our commitment to adapting and connecting diverse musical communities through creative digital solutions.

Whether through live performances, digital collaborations, or in-depth educational programs, Alex Productions strives to enrich the musical experience for students across South Africa. We aim to bridge diverse backgrounds, nurture emerging talent, and support the development of future generations of musicians. By providing educational and engaging resources, we seek to make South African music accessible and relevant to young people today, ensuring that our cultural legacy continues to thrive.
